Trust & compliance
Volunteer projects are at their best when the foundations underneath them are solid. This page sets out — plainly — who runs this platform, the standards we hold ourselves to, and where responsibility sits.
Who runs this
The Radical Tech Team platform is operated by Amphora Solutions Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom [Company No. XXXXXXXX]. Amphora Solutions provides the infrastructure, security oversight and legal accountability behind the volunteer community: someone identifiable is responsible for the platform, and that responsibility doesn't lapse when volunteers come and go.
Data protection & the ICO
Amphora Solutions Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office as a data controller [ICO Reg. ZAXXXXXX]. We apply UK GDPR principles across the platform:
- Data minimisation — projects collect only what they genuinely need, and we challenge them when they ask for more.
- Purpose limitation — data gathered for one purpose isn't quietly reused for another.
- Transparency — this site has a privacy notice, and every project publishes its own covering its specific processing.
- Accountability — data protection questions have a named home: privacy@radicaltechteam.co.uk.
Information security
We implement information security best practices proportionate to the data we handle, including:
- Central single sign-on (SAML / OpenID Connect) so access is granted — and revoked — in one place, with modern authentication standards.
- Least-privilege access — volunteers get the access their role needs, no more.
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) across all hosted services.
- Maintained infrastructure — patched Ubuntu-based servers we operate ourselves, rather than an unmanaged sprawl of personal machines.
- Version control and review — code lives in our GitHub organisation where changes are reviewed and traceable.
Every project has its own privacy notice
Different tools process different data, so a single blanket notice would be vague to the point of useless. Instead, each Radical Tech Team project publishes its own privacy notice describing exactly what it collects, why, and for how long — before it handles real data. The notice on this site covers the website itself.
Independence
Radical Tech Team is an independent volunteer project. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Liberal Democrats, and we don't speak for the party. Our branding is deliberately our own. Where a project handles party or campaign data, it does so under its own privacy notice and any agreements the relevant party body requires.
Questions welcome
If you're a local party officer, a compliance-minded member of staff, or just a thorough-minded member: we like your kind of question. Write to privacy@radicaltechteam.co.uk for data protection matters, or hello@radicaltechteam.co.uk for anything else.
